• The UK Government announced its ambitions for the AI Safety Summit to be held on November 1st and 2nd at Bletchley Park. - The summit aims to address risks associated with powerful AI systems, focusing on potential dangers such as biosecurity threats and emphasizing safe AI usage for public good. The event will bring together key countries, leading technology organizations, academia, and civil society to inform national and international actions in AI development. 

• Adobe updates - Adobe announces powerful new generative AI features in various software including Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Express, and more. Specific features in Photoshop include Generative Fill for adding/removing content and Generative Expand for expanding canvas and filling realistic content. Illustrator introduces Text to Vector Graphics, Generative Recolor, Retype, and Mockup features.

• Google experimenting with generative AI in Search - We’re testing new ways to get more done right from Search, like the ability to generate imagery with AI or creating the first draft of something you need to write.

• ElevenLabs Translation's voice translation technology - This voice translation tool can convert spoken content to another language in minutes, while preserving the voice of the original speaker.

The hype is starting to die down, and maybe we can start to see what we can do with it, it is very crowded, and many are making promises. I think there is much to explore as we go forward, there is much more to consider too, slowing down can only be a good thing. We need to consider the impact of New technology. I don’t think it will just solve all our problems, some things we need to fix first, But I still think AI will be a useful tool for many of us in many ways. I look forward to exploring exciting advancements with you and discussing the implications of these in your life and mine.
